weight loss?

I know weight loss isn't a symptom of IBS but how do you not loose any weight when you have periods when you really don't want to eat anything or when your stomach feels so uncomfortable that you don't want to eat anything in case you then have to run to the loo?

When would loosing weight be a concern?

Re: weight loss?

Since I've been diagnosed with IBS (about 6 onths now) I've lost 50 pounds, but I was over weight to begin with and I just lost all that weight because I eat better and exercise. I don't have a choice because everytime I eat something that's bad for me I get an attack.

If you should loose weight to the point that it's under your healthy weight you should be concerned and tell your doctor...espacially if your loosing weight without any change in what you eat or your level of activity.
