this just cannot be IBS. i been getting this awful pain under my right rib cage for like a year now and as time goes on the "attacks" get worse. i been tested for alot of things-hep.ABCDEFG, lol, liver enzymes, gallstones, ct's, ultrasounds..........nada, but my white blood cell count stays a little elavated. i have light and sometimes bright yellow stools, bright yellow vomit, about 1-2 cups per day. my temp. stays between 98.9-99.9. sometimes i get pain around my belly button scars too. yet i keep getting diagnosed with IBS and sent home this last time i went to er they treated my like an addict and said i had been there 4 times in 2 months and need to get this taken care of and didnt give me any kind of meds for anything. i guess i was labeled a crazy or addict?? either one is bad. i have had 3 surgeries, 2 for endometriosis and my appendix out. any clues?? i have read about something called adhesions due to previous surgeries. my surgeries were 2 and 3 years ago. i am lost and feel like its all in my head and i am an addict to pain meds. what is goin on?? i feel hopeless. any clues??

Hi angel -so sorry for your troubles. Your problems sound a lot like gall bladder, and you can read my numerous posts on the Digestive Disorders site. I too had "normal" gall bladder test results, but after many months of suffering the exact same symptoms as you, my surgeon sent me for a 2nd opinion to confirm the GB and 2 days later I had surgery. It was severely inflamed and covered in scar tissue, even though ultrasounds and hida scans had been considered "normal." But like you too, (in addition to other GB symptoms like you already listed), I had the slightly elevated white count and continual low grade fever, which indicated an infection. Once the GB was removed my labs returned to normal levels.
Find another doctor who will listen to your symptoms and not just rely on test results.
i just went to see a new dr. didnt mention any previous drs. he said it sounded like my gallbladder, during a routine exam he wasnt totally sure it was gallstones though but he said something with my gallbladder definetily. for some reason he wants to check glucose levels. whatever that is. some blood test. i cant eat that day. what does that test have to do with this?? he is also scheduling me for an ultrasound. although i already know it is not goin to show anything of significance. we'll see what he does from there.

Hi angel. I'm not sure what the glucose test is for - maybe to check problems with pancreas? Since you know the ultrasound will probably be "normal" you might want to now tell him you've had all these other tests done and what the results were. Or just let him go ahead and order the test - he may be looking for something more than just the radiologist's report.
So sorry to hear this is still going on....what you described sounded a lot like a disorder I had read about that I can't recall the formal name of but I believe it had something to do w/ your liver....have they tested you for all liver problems? Like stuff you could have been born with? I know that when your waste products in your body aren't released right you can end up w/ some odd colors in your stool...Just a thought to ask your doc!

I am experiencing the exact same symptoms as you are and I can relate to how horrible you are feeling. I had a tubale 3 years ago and am thinking mine is related to adhesions. Now, how to get these doctors to 'listen' to us is another thing.
I have had ultra sound, ctscan, colonoscopy, and am going in for blood work which I have a feeling will come back normal. If I hear 'you are constipated' one more time I believe I will scream. My obgyn who did my tubal passed away shortly afterward and I feel absolutely lost without him. My dr. adivsed me after doing the tubal I had severe scar tissue from a prevous c-section and he removed the adhesions. Well, come to find out, this is possibly the worst thing he could have done as they come back worse than before from what I have read.
Dont give up and do not allow others to tell you there is nothing wrong if you know your body is not functioning normally. I have an appointment sceduleded with an obgyn who does laprascopies. From what I understand, this is the only way to diagnose adhesions. Adhesions do not show up on x-rays, cat scans, etc.
I wish you luck and truly hope we can find an end to this suffering. Anyone with adhesions? If so, how did you finally get a dr. to diagnose?
I have IBS and had adhesions, after YEARS of pain and problems with many tests that came back normal my doc figured I might need a hysterectomy, when they finally did do it they told me that my inards were so bound up by adhesions that they had to lazer my inards apart so they could funtion more normaly. My IBS is still somewhat a problem but no where near what it use to be.
