I have tried bentyl and levsid for spasming and they did absolutely NOTHING. I just went to a gastroenterologist and they prescribed me Librax. I started having spamsing tonight after dinner, so I tried the Librax and within about 15 minutes, the cramping was almost gone. Then about an hour later, I felt the urge to go but it wasn't bad at all. Not NEARLY the pain I usually get. I am wondering if anyone else has had success with Librax?
I have been on it and even suggested to others to try it for quite some time. I take it three times a day for maintenance.
It does wonders
Glad you found something that helps.
I have read if you take it for a long time the Dr should wean you off slowly. I know it makes me really tired, but I take 2 before each meal, and at bedtime. Librium is part of Librax and it works on anxiety symptoms, while the other part of the medicine is an antispasmodic. I don't know if that helps any, but it is worth being tired, if you can go out and not worry about running to the washroom.
I am assuming that the cramping comes from the spasoming in the intestines, along with gas. My problem is when I eat about 2-5 minutes after I eat and it hits my stomach I have to run ( literally) to the washroom. The Librax helps me, although when I eat it hurts my stomach, it has prevented me from the embarassment of running to the washroom where ever I go. Sometimes it will even hit just out of the blue, the pain, the urgency, its terrible. The Librax seems to be helping me, and its better than the Bentyl the Dr first prescribed which did absolutly nothing.
