Hello everyone, ill make this post short. I have a lot of the symptoms of IBS, like how gassy and terrible my stomach feels after I eat greasy foods or anything else that might upset it, like dairy, but strangely my bowel movement is fine. It sometimes is a bit 'messy', but thats all. Could it be a IBS, which is what I was told, or just a sour stomach?
IBS symptoms are clearly defined by the ROME Criteria. A group of Health Care Professional from all over the world got together in Rome, Italy in 1994 and set forth the criteria for all Gastrointestinal problems. It was published by Dr William DrossmanMD of the University of NC-- a recognized expert in this field of Medicine.
They did this so everyone would know exactly what the various syndromes were, and the symptoms. I think they have met since then to update their findings.
The Rome Criteria symptoms are outlined in a thread at the top of this borad in "Worth Reading for IBS'er".
You may want to read it --- it has more to do with the lower intestines than the stomach!!!
