| IBS with Constipation
Okay I have been constipated now for a week. (I did go once after taking 3 Correctols)I have used everthing I can think of, stool softeners, suppositories, regular laxatives...nothing or if so, very hard stools. I've had IBS for years and never really been treated for it. Did the zelnorm thing worked fine for the time I was on it. Doctor just says increase the fiber. Well the more fiber I get the worse the constipation gets. I've been drinking at least 8 glasses a day, if not more and I've been watching what I am eating. Read in a book that fructose could cause some problems along with several other sources that I am trying to avoid. I have also been taking acidophillus tablets but not sure if they are helping.
Does anyone know anything about lazy bowel or sluggish colon. Is that the same as IBS? I just get worried. My grandmother died at age 40 of some type of bowel or colon disorder (possibly cancer). I'm 33. Did know what else to try.
