"Cures" for IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Message Board

Has anyone tried (successfully) the over the counter meds/supplements that are available for IBS. Digestrin is one.... Equalactin is another? At this point, I'm willing to try almost anything, but don't want to just throw my money away. Acidolpholus, flax seed, metamucil, tried all ... none worked.

Hi CrazyCats,

I've tried is anbesol liquid for my gums - it works pretty good if I use if on a rare occasion. (It freezes the gums - and somehow reduces IBS).

But I've also tried Bile salts on the days I used to have the big "C". It's very hard to tell how much you need sometimes.

Well, of course there is yogourt. Doesn't always improve the IBS, but hasn't made it any worse.

The only thing I've practiced with consistent results is visualisation. Nothing else helps me even a quarter as much as this.

I take Digestive Advantage, and caltrate colon health calcium. Both over the counter and relatively inexpensive. I also take equalactin, and have had good results with it too. Good Luck! catlover
