I, and my daughter, have ibs. she went to go see a specialist about it a few months back. he did inform us of something that i thought was strange but it was SO true i couldnt believe it!!! he said most, if not all, sufferers of ibs also have a condition that makes them prone to feeling pain more than others. for ex. if i get tickled it literally feels like im bruised where i was tickled and the pain can last for 15 mins or so!! i remember a lot growing up how if i stubbed my toe or banged my knee it seemed i always felt pain differently than others and my dh would always say i was koo koo!! but i told him its like if i get pinched or someone bumps into my arm i feel it for a very long time and it really really hurts me!! my dughter is the same way and like i said the doc said it goes hand in hand! now i dont remember the name for it or anything but just thought id mention it to others.

Thanks for sharing. I think this may be true. My husband always tells me that I feel pain when others would just ignore it. I am hypersensative to pain and also hypervigilant to it.

Hayley 0610...Thanks for the post. I think that bit of information explains a lot, at least for me. It explains the fact that ever since I was diagnoised I have been one pain med or another. Right now, I'm taking Methadone for pain, but I also have other issues to deal with. I had lung surgery two years ago and I still suffer from neuralgia pain that runs from my sternum to approximately my spine. They had to cut through a lot of nerves and my surgeon said it is more painful than heart surgery where they just cut through the sternum. In my lung surgery, they had to break and cut out two ribs to get at the lung. That is also a souce of pain. My IBS is quite painful everyday and I have medications to help control the diarreha and also the pain.
