i am a 21 y.o. male enlisted in the US Army currently serving in Iraq and i am coming here because i am getting nowhere with Army doctors. i have a combination of problems that i am hoping someone here can help me with. it all started a day after my 13th b'day. i had just eaten a fried egg and drank some orange juice. about 15 minutes later, i had the worst abdominal cramps i had experienced in my life thus far. i felt the urge to have a bowel movement, so i ran to the bathroom, nothing. the pain began to subside, so i got up again and went back to watch tv, still not feeling right. sure enough, about 2-3 minutes later, the pain was back. this went on about 30 more minutes until i could finally have a bowel movement. from this day forward this routine went on daily. just one time a day. after that one time, i was good for the day. it got so predictable my family and i would plan trips AROUND my daily bowel movement. fast forward, say, 2 years, and i began having the painful "attacks" more than once a day. from 5-6 times on my bad days to not at all on a good day. i went to doctors who all blew it off as IBS. i say "blew it off" because all the medication never worked, some even made it worse. i apologize for i cant remember the names of all the meds i have been on, but if you can name it (for IBS) i have probably taken it. well, this all went on for another year or two, then more problems. i developed a "barking cough" (like a barking seal) and i have had it for about 5 years now. i dont smoke, never have. i very rarely drink. i have also tried diets, no change. i got to where food would get "stuck" too. basically, i can chew my food for as long as i want, but if my throat wants to make it get stuck, it is going to. it will lodge about middle of my breasts causing great pain and i either have to endure barely being able to breathe and the great pain or force myself to vomit. sometimes i have to force myself to vomit multiple times to make the "obstruction" go away. most the time this only happens one time a meal, although it has happened multiple times before. when it all started (the choking), it was once every 6-8 months. now it is most every meal. i have had WATER cause the attacks before so nobody can tell me i am not chewing my food enough, lol. i also have a problem with bowel and bladder control. sometimes when my stomach begins cramping, i cant make it to the bathroom fast enough, and i have accidents. before this was once a year IF THAT, but i have had two in the last 3 months. also, when i urinate, and go to put my pants back on, i leak into my pants usually enough to run down my leg. it doesnt matter how much i try to make certain i have gotten it all out, i will still leak almost everytime. never did this until a couple years ago. i have had all kinds of tests ran, Barium Swallow, colonoscopy, 3 upper GI's, a lower GI, scopes ran up my nose and down my throat 4 times. doctors found a cyst that time and when they operated they found it was TWO. they were on my esophageal tract. this solved a breathing problem i also had. they were both benign. i came on here because i NEED to know what is going on, the symptoms are getting worse and i am getting scared. so if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it...if i think of anything else i will add it in here...
