Can someone please tell me if this is IBS related. I have been having these problems for a few days now, and it started after taking a round of antibiotics. I have been diagnosed with IBS, but have never had these symptoms. This feeling comes on after I eat something. It doesn't have to be anything in particular. When it starts I feel like I am going to explode with gas and the cramping is terrible. If someone has had these similar problems please let me know. This is a terrible feeling. Thanks worriedfemale
I have this symptom on and off. It does not seem to matter what I eat or even if i have eaten anything. It is more focused on my right side but I feel the pressure on both. I do have IBS. I have been told it is gas pain. Have you had your gall bladder out or checked? I would see a GI Doc. if you haven't already just to rule out anything more serious.
Thanks for the reply. I have had my gallbladder took out about 8 years ago. I thought this might be gas, but I have never had it in that area before. I also suffer with acid reflux and a high hernia, so I guess this could be causing part of the problem. I ahven't had these episodes anymore since I stopped taking the antibiotics, so I figure they just got my stomach out of whack. I know that was an awful feeling, hope I don't have it anymore. Thanks again, worriedfemale
2 years after my Gall Bladder surgery I started having the same "attacks" again. After some tests (ERCP, blood, etc.) my GI doc said I had SOD (Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction). I had a sphincterotomy done and I feel fine now. I don't know if you are having the same pains but I would have your doctor check it out if you are. You need a specialist to preform the ERCP though since it can be risky.
The pains I was having was nothing on the pains I had with my gallbladder, thought I was dying with that. LOL Glad that thing is gone. Still haven't had anymore problems with the cramping and bloating, but I'm going to have it checked out to be on the safe side. Thanks for the advice, I'll ask my doctor about that one just to make sure.
