| Re: Endoscopy & Colonoscopy
The prep is the worst part for sure!!!
As far as the procedures...I hope you are sedated, they really aren't THAT bad.
MOST people will tell you that they don't remember anything, and they wake up in the recovery room wondering when the procedure is going to start.
When I had mine done, it wasn't too bad, I didn't feel the tube go in the rectum at all.. but one time I did feel it go around one of the turns of the colon and it was quite painful.. I actually woke up from the daze and screamed in pain, but they quickly gave me more medicine and I was back in a trance.
Don't worry about it... you'll be happy you got it over with.
The only problem is... with the prep, after the colonoscopy, I wasn't having formed stools at all for about 1-2 weeks. I didn't really realize it would be like this, but because you have to take SOOO much of a given laxative at once, it throws your system out of whack. Although some people don't have this problem, I thought I'd let you know if you do, it's normal.
