Hi i need help - Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Message Board

Hi i recently had an endoscopy and my dr found nothing but ibs doesnt explain it all my dr is great but ever since the first time he diagnosed me it hurts more and my new medicine helps the cramps alot but has changed my bowel habits from constipation to explosive diareah and it leaves my rear so soar it hurts to sit i was just wondering if others have this painful problem.

The medicine is Nu Lev which works great for cramps for most days but lately
their awfully painful but i can deal with them me its just the other thats awful.

Maybe the medicine helps your cramps by helping you to relieve yourself so that they don't come as a result of lack of bowel movements?
Maybe you could try some medicine like Immodium, or try changing your diet to prevent D?

Ravonousdog,
Just wanted to let you know that what I do to relieve the painful rectum is, when I go to the bathroom I fill up a squirt bottle with warm water and when I am all done , before I wipe (with a baby wipe) I spray my entire anal area with that warm water, and let me tell you what.... what a difference. It seems to not only take away the pain of it, but relaxes me so that I am not so stressed about the whole thing as well.....
