question for 6th sense

I often seen you write about your visualization techniques that you created that helped with your IBS. I was wondering if you would be willing to share them? I went thru biofeedback years ago for migraines and found that the visualization helped quite a bit, and I've tried it for my IBS-D but, honestly, do not know WHAT to visualize that would help. I've tried seeing my intestines as these wildly pulsing snakes that would slowly calm down, tried comparing my spasms to the waves of an ocean in a storm, then calming, a big wheel spinning really fast, then slowing.... but I just can't get it right.

Thx!

Re: question for 6th sense

Hi Barefoot,

I'm not sure if you've seen my webpage, but it is chock full of visual techniques which I invented. Unfortunately, I haven't attempted to update those pages in a long, long while - and so it may be very outdated.

Visual techniques are extremely hard to invent without understanding the underlying science involved in creating them. Most visual techniques will last a short period of time and then they become unusable - a good understanding of why can only be had by understanding the science behind the generation of the techniques.

An analogy of what my situation is looks as follows:
I am a phd student in a science that only one or two people in the world might understand. I learnt it out of necessity and not because I wished to gain any popularity or any recognition. I attempted in the early stages to share it in a simple format ordinary people could understand in an attempt to motivate others to join me in learning the science, so that we could scratch each other's back. However, it is not a realistic thing to expect from posting on a bulletin board.

I write that one or two people worldwide might understand my techniques - but I am not even sure of that - I don't know anyone who uses my techniques - although I do know of another "energy" healer who uses some technique of his own that acheives essentially the same effect - which convinces me that there may not be anyone on the planet who will know my technique.

Unfortunately, I can't speak of my experience without mentioning "Oh, and I happen to be immune to having to use the methods I describe because....".

As for whether I will continue to share my techniques with others - it is turning out to be a completely volunteer effort with no hopes of ever seeing some return of any sort - a small handful of people even admit to finding the techniques useful in any way shape or form. My sharing of my techniques is therefore contingent on my inclination to spend a lot of time trying to figure out images that will mount to producing the same effect as what I do in my head for a potentially very small group of people.

I haven't completely given up on charity though. I have helped others with health problems temporarily overcome some of the troubles they are going through with my energy healing.

I hope that there are others out there who might be able to help you though - there are a great many companies and networks that attempt to use anything they can find - even scraps - to their advantage. I recall a number of times when I posted things to my website - a flurry of activity could suddenly be found on websites elsewhere - even from the big name networks that reflected exactly what I spoke of on my website....

I feel sad that I don't exactly have the time to generate something more useful to people and perhaps something commercial so that people won't feel that they were imposing, but just helping me and themselves in the process.

I do feel a sense of urgency for some kind of solution for people though, because some people suffer from what I consider life threatening. Medical science may not consider it that way, but I have a habit of calling an apple an apple and an orange an orange. Some people suffer from this debilitating disorder to such an extent that they are not capable of sustainably living. I know that I have been through a period where I attempted to search for a medical solution rather than a mind-based solution and were it not for the support of my parents for almost everything I would have perished.

Well I gotta go for now.

Cheers, - Raju -

Re: question for 6th sense

I would love to see your web site, can you post the url ... or what I can search for to find it?

And you certainly piqued my curiosity with the mention of the science you studied!

I do believe that we can cure ourselves by other means than artificially created chemicals and that the mind is a much greater instrument than we can ever imagine.

I went thru hell with migraines when I was a teenager/early 20's. Would be holed up in a dark quiet room for almost a week when one hit (which was about once a month). Any movement or sound would bring on the vomiting. I honestly thought my head would explode. Got a good job out of college, and almost lost it because of the amount of time I had to take off. I had pain killers of every shape and size and nothing would work. I found a great doctor who recommended biofeedback. I would have tried anything at that point (much like I feel today with my IBS). I was the biggest skeptic but after about 10 sessions, I realized that although I still got migraines, I was able to 'control' the pain and shorten dramatically the time I was incapacitated. I still use the biofeedback techniques I learned today for headaches, the occasional migraine, backaches....even a killer toothache!

I've looked for biofeedback therapists who deal with IBS, but so far have been unsuccessful in finding any.

Re: question for 6th sense

Hi Barefoot,

Thanks for the vote of confidence. It sure lifts my spirits.

We're not allowed to post URLs or search terms (I believe)... It really is very outdated (my site) - It looks very primitive to me now that I re-looked at it - something I haven't done in years. My page talks about "A possible IBS cure", meditation, visualisation, dangers of meditation, herbal tea and ironically toothaches and headaches too. So, if you are still interested in finding it, help yourself.

As for biofeedback - I've heard the term bandied about a number of times, but I've never actually studied what is involved. If it helps you, I say continue using it. There is already so much at stake with IBS, it is not worth passing up on opportunities that work - especially if you have nothing to lose.

The science I studied is all in my head - don't know how much use that is to anyone else. I once tried to explain it here, but it didn't quite work out... I've never taught anyone the science either.

Cheers, - Raju -
