hi my 22 year old daughter has been diagnosed with ibs for about 18 month now shes had the camera etc but yesturday she went to see her doctor because she was bleeding when she went to the toilet (the tissue was soaked ) and shes having a lot of pain in her stomach he gave her tablets etc ive just spoken to her today and her words were mum i feel like i just want to die i feel so drained im really worried about her is it normal to bleed etc please any advise is needed

I bleed all the time. Alot of times with pain and sometimes with out. I am 26 years old and have had this problem since I was about 12 years old. It diffinately has gotten worse through the years and is very painful. I was just diagnosed with IBS too, but hemroids run in my family. I too am so fustrated and my husband just does not get it. Have her drink ALOT of water. For me popcorn triggers it. I love popcorn too. I bleed due to the hemroids I think and they hurt, if she has that problem hot baths are great! Have her figure out what triggers it if she can. Just be there for her. I really feel for her and hope she feels better soon! Best luck to you and her!

Bleeding from the rectum is NOT a good sign especially with pain, she must demand another colonoscopy to have a proper look!!

Hemmroids can cause bleeding, but if the tissue was soaked with blood, that doesn't sound right. I would also demand another colonoscopy.

According to the IBS symptoms -- bleeding is not on the list.
Bleeding rectally -- I think-- should always be checked out by a qualified Doctor to make sure it is not serious.

It could be hemorrhoids, a fissure or diverticular bleeding. Taking a blood thinner even asprin causes me to bleed rectally!!
