Colon cleansers?

Has anyone here tried colon cleansers like drnatura as a means of curing/easing IBS? Some of the stories on the drnatura site from IBS sufferers look promising, but it's hard to know what to believe, especially on the internet. If anyone has tried them; what kind did you use? Did it have any effect?

Re: Colon cleansers?

I haven't tried them and fear them actually. It took me a long time to get my bowels back to normal just from the clean out associated with a colonoscopy. I'd be curious to know too if this has helped anyone.

Re: Colon cleansers?

Hi
I actually tried the Drnatura colon cleasing system. It worked really well for me. I was diagnosed with IBS-C about 2 years ago. I tried medicine with no results and vitamins which worked real well. I found this product by accident and was highly impressed with the results. The only problem for me was that I could take the drink. It does not dissolve well and is clumpy I mixed with juice but still couldnt get the drink down for too long. I used it consistantly for 2-3 weeks lost 10 pounds slept better and felt so good. It was also hard if you have a job in the morning you need an hour to get yourself together before being able to leave. I would highly recommend this to any one who could. But if anyone has any other good colon cleasers that do not involve a chunky drink I would be very interested.

Re: Colon cleansers?

what were your simptoms that this helped??

every since I can remember.. atleast since I am 8 I have had IBS simptoms... i would get D everyday!! Finally around the age of 14 I saw a doctor and they said "ibs eat more fiber" I had some stool sample tests as well as the xray of your digestive system and was told nothing was wrong.. but I was still getting D often.. now I get it less frequently sometimes only once or twice a week, but now I get horrible gas almost every day and it lasts for hours. Do you think this product may help me? How does it work? Does it send you running to the bathroom? If so does it happen right away or will I be out doing something and get that oh no feeling? Please help!!

Re: Colon cleansers?

Cleanse Smart is capsules so you don't have to drink anything thick. It makes me go before breakfast and sometimes after lunch too. Really cuts down the bloating and gas.

It cleanses the liver/kidneys and lymphatic system too, so I haven't sneezed when I vacuum since I started the cleanse a week ago. It drained the toxins out of my muscles because I have no painful pressure points while sleeping anymore. That relief occured withing a few days. Great product for the whole body it seems for me, not just the colon. A lot cheaper than DrNatura and available in health stores.

BTW the first 5 days I went 2-3 times a day and now on day 7 and 8 I have gone once a day.

Re: Colon cleansers?

I am trying Dr. Natura. After 4 days I got diarrhea and stopped the senna tea at night. The fiber that you mix with water is really disgusting, I did that for almost a week. The thought of it makes me want to vomit. So I am using benefiber and Metamucil. I then got constipated after stopping the tea. I have gotten stomach cramps and the feeling of urgency with bowel movements, that I am afraid to go back to the regimen, on work days. I will probably send it back - I purchased two months, but will continue to try to get past stage one. I also take a probiotic.

Re: Colon cleansers?

I tried DrNatura for 10 days and it was a living nightmare. I'm not sure if I was allergic to one of the herbs in there or what but I lost 10 pounds in 10 days which is too fast! Harsh laxatives aren't suggest for IBS but I didn't find this out until afterwards.

Re: Colon cleansers?

I have been on the Dr. Natura for about 22 days now. It has worked really great for me. I have not had any weight loss or felt any different, however I just had bladder sling surgery so I assume that the bloating is from that. The thing I want to know is, once you stop, will the IBS come back? The cleanse is only supposed to be used twice per year.

As far as the powder, I actually didn't mind it or had any clumping.

By the way, I have not seen anything weird coming out of my bowels like the website shows but just being able to go is a miracle for me as I have tried EVERYTHING on the market prior.

Re: Colon cleansers?

You can adjust the amount of time you brew the tea. If you leave the bag in too long, you will get loose stool.
