Lately a couple of times & would run to the bathroom w/the runs at the same time & would get sick & start to throw up which of course is hard to do when you are sitting on the bowl! This has me very upset it is horrible. I do have IBS for yrs now & used to get bouts of diarrhea of course but not the other. I think I had both yrs ago & only once. My Dr things it's stress but it happened tonight & I was not stressed. Anyone else have or had this?
I have had that when I have had a stomach bug or when I have eaten some bad food. it's embarassing as hell to have it coming out both ends but, (no pun intended) you are not alone.
I usually try to down some bread or crackers to absorb the extra liquid in my intestines.
Diarrhea and throwing up at the same time has happened to me on many occassions. The pain from the cramping becomes so severe I become nauseated and throw up. Yes, it is hard to do both at the same time. I keep a wastepaper basket or ice cream pail beside the toilet in both bathrooms. I suffer from IBS-D. The only thing that helps is Immodium for the diarrhea and Pepto Bismol for the nausea, although my Dr has prescribed drugs for the problems. I find the OTC medicines more effective than the prescriptions and with fewer side effects.
Good luck to you. I hope you find a way to help you get some control over the problem.
Thanks for replying, I haven't been so bad in the last few days at all, started taking Caltrate (purple & white bottle) I saw where it helped & it seems to be.
From what I see Dr's don't know too much about it or how to treat it & not much interest either.
i have the same problem i now see a doctor in the internal clinic at the hospital regularly. they have diagnosed me with uncontrollable vomiting. i know there is a technical name for it but i cant remember how to spell it. stress related. basically i need to learn how to relax my insides.
I have been really great since I amtaking the Caltrate 699-D. I haven't had D or throwing up anymore. I also have been under alot of stress w/my Mom in hospital & it still is ok. Why don't you try it?
