Post Colonoscopy HELP!!!!!!! - Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Message Board

Hi all!

I'm Don and I'm a 30 years plus sufferer of IBS...and all of the names they called it before! Just had my first Colonoscopy (All clear-just an irritated section)....truly a breeze..With one exception. That was two weeks ago today and I still haven't really had a BM....I've had a couple of soft little quarter inch poof balls (Gross, huh?)...but, I just can't seem to get it started...Anybody take a while like that? I'm figuring because I emptied out...and have been eating very little maybe it's just taking time...Anybody?

Have you reported this to your GI doc? I would.

I've had 6 colonoscopies over the last 20 yrs., and it is normal to take a few days to get back on track ... but 2 weeks seems excessive.

May I ask why you're not eating?

Well.. the whole recent episode started with a Major over-eating flare-up...Normally I'm IBS-D...but if I over load...I stop going-Mucous only, cramps you know, the whole bit. In fact, I was so glopped up, they had taken a catscan and told me I had a 'bloackage and that I had a colon tumor'...Scared the watubees out of me...After the test, I was told that it was just a very irritaed colon, a narrowing.,,,Just ...IBS. Point being, because it was still spasming when they did the colonoscopy...I decided to start slooowww. I'm thinking thats the reason.
