Anyone tried colon cleansing? - Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Message Board

I ordered some Colon Blow (haha)...I'm hoping it helps with my IBS symptoms once I'm all cleaned out. Has anyone tried colon cleansing and if so, did it help??? Thanks!

Tried it years ago. It's really harsh on the body. It doesn't help, in the long run. I'm quite leary of the colon cleanse products. It's a big business right now but no one regulates what these products contain. In addition, one GI guy told me the more you take such products, the less efficiently your colon will work.

BTW: Taking these products did nothing to alleviate the long term symptoms of IBS.

Colonic irigation is fantastic but first check with your doctor that you are suitable for it. It must be done by a professional fully qualified and the results are amazing, you feel so energetic the day after having it, but its no good if you are going to continue to eat the wrong foods. You must get your diet in order and avoid the foods that irritate your bowel.

Finally, someone else who has experienced the amazing results of colon hydrotherapy!
