Hey guys, first post on this forum.

Ok here goes . I've had IBS since i was 13 years old, it came on after i came back from a holiday in florida, and contracted Mild food poisoning, which lasted for about 3 weeks after returning.

After that, when i moved up to High School, (year 9) from middle school, I had my first "major" attack, which resulted in very painful cramps which lasted for a few hours normally in the morning, coming in Waves, then relaxing, then coming back again. Since then i have not had a reccurance of this particular pain, though i have had the "standard" lower cramps, followed by diahorea, and occasional constipation. But nothing nearly as severe as the first time.

I found out then that that cramp may have been caused by the anxiety of change, moving from one school to another, and since then i have not had any Major changes in my life. But now, i feel the old problems as if it were yesterday, the nerves and tentions coming back.

I went to the doctors to see if i could get any preventative medication for IBS, he gave me Mebeverine Hydrochloride (aka Colfac), which is antispasmodic medicine, also i have started to take enteric pepperming capsules, to help keep my gut relaxed. I was wondering if these two could be taken in conjunction with eachother, without any bad side effects?
My first day of Uni is tommorow, and i'm as you can imagine very anxious, i'm not living on site though, i'm commuting from home, however the early morning to get up and take the train are quite daunting and nerve wracking. I haven't started taking those colfac yet, do you think if i take then over the next few weeks it may stave off one of these painful attacks?

Also i have been told that pain is due to the colon spasming, will the pepperming even get that far? same question for the tablets?
