I have had strange intestinal spasms since about September/October 2007. At first, they were to the left of my belly button, and felt like a baby kicking. (No, I'm not pregnant). Also, my hunger increased and I have gained weight. I asked my doctor about it in November, thinking I might have had parasites. He said he didn't think so. But the fairly frequent spasms have continued. Now, I have one also on the right side and the one on the left seems to have gravited upwards a couple of inches. Any one else have symptoms like this?
Hello Deb! Funny that you posted this, because I was just thinking about this and how I have this going on. It drives me crazy. It reminds me of when I was pregnant. lol But I am not, trust me! It spasms on the left and rumbles sometimes, then on the right sometimes. Its weird but I think it is part of the intestinal problems. It has gotten worse the older I have gotten.
Thanks for your responses. I was diagnosed with IBS quite a long time ago, but the spasm symptoms are relatively new to me and I didn't know it was a part of IBS. That helps alleviate my worries. Thanks again!
Most spasms as well as cramping is caused by a lack of magnesium in your diet. Magnesium is present in every cell of your body and is present in lots of food but easily lost in your urine.
An extremely good homeopathic remedy good for spasms and cramping anywhere in your body is Magnesia Phos-- a 6 to 30X potency will work in about 30 min. and can be repeated. It is available at most health food stores.
Other vits you may also need is Calcium and vitamin D for absorption.
