I am new here but I have some questions for those that have IBS..
About 5 years ago I went to the Doctor because I had blood in my stools and a lot of anxiety..
I was 23 at the time and I am 28 now..
They gave me an exam and said I have external and internal hemorrhoids and said I have IBS because of my anxiety problem.. The hemorrhoids run in my family..
My hemorrhoids come and go and I have pretty good bowel movements but lately I have noticed blood again and my stools are flatter.. My anus itches sometimes and burns and when this happens I have bright red blood when I wipe.. This comes and goes as well..
I went to my Doc and she did a blood test and it came back positive that I have blood in my anus.. She is sending me off to have a colonosocpy done..
This has me worried about what they might find, and my anxiety is making my IBS a lot worse..
I really do not have any pain, just every now and then blood or mucus on my stool and now thinner stools..
Should I be worried about something more serous or are these common with IBS..
A friend treated IBS with pure chestnut honey - she took 1 table spoon on empty stomach in the morning (you can drink a glass of water with it), and 1 table spoon before meal at noon and in the evening. Try also to avoid acid forming foods, you can get a list of acid and alkaline forming foods online.
