More people in America are becomming this way too,it boggles my mind. Do you feel any better from changing your diet? How long did it take for you to find out that you had this disease? It doesn't run in my family, but stomach problems sure do.
It took me around over 5 years at least that is how long I have been reall ill but have had little things with my tummy since I was little a nervous tum my mum would say also got terriblr growing pains I would cry with the pain.....
I was in a state of denial & would do the diet then not but when I finally got the B12 deficiency which I am now feeling I have had for years & years and I was so sick I would loose my memory ramble on my husband couldnt make sense of what I was saying and he freaked out I was extremely anxious I though I have to do this......
I was always at the docs compalianing about my symptoms they would give me pain meds and heaps of scans ect....But only a gallstone showed up classic for celiacs I believe....One day my doc was on holidays and I was so ill that I seen a new doctor and that when they pick up my deficiencies.....Needless to say I went and seen my original doc who said she wouldnt have botheredto do the B12 cause it was fine 9 months ago (which it wasnt is was so low but normal) so I would be either dead or in a nursing home by now......It is just amazing so I encourage you to be persistant it pays of you know your body better than anyone......
I dont know if it runs in my family but I know a lot have tummy issues and deficiencies thyriod problems (connected to B12)but they dont seem to biother about getting it checked out this annoyed me at first but oh well I had to let that one go you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink!...However my dad has had some tests and a few things are showing up I mentioned celiac to him and he said oh I am not doing that I just smiled and said well its your chioce dad...It does no harm to give it a go if that is not it then thats ok but you never know....
If you have the tests make sure you get the results in writing and get your B12 serum
uMMA (urine test)
Celiac panel there are a few in this one
Gene for celiac
Good luck let us know how you go
