Hi There
If you are Lactose intoerant the chances of you being celiac are very high. A lot of celiacs have a intolerance to lactose once going gluten free for a while the lactose can be reintroduced slowly rather successfully.......
Celiac is a funny thing if you have it as a child the symptoms seem to cahnge throught your life at least this has been docummented for some.........
Constipation is common in celiac not just loose bowels there are a lot of symptoms and even if you have mild damage bloods won't necessarily pick it up so it is tricky even doing biopsies the damage is not always consistent so it depends were they take the samples......... one can have loose stools constipation, pale stools, bulky stools, greasy stools....(I had them all) they can be super smelly because of sterrohea ,,lots of gas and it is smelly (when I first realized about gluten I went through a lot of denile and I would eat it and because with me I don't react straight away I thought I didn't have that but it would soon catch up with me a major thing was very smelly gas (sorry to be graphic) my children would say "mum you have been eating gluten again". Ohhh they always keep me in checkLOL you can get joint pains, stomach pains, neasea heaps of things but you don't have to have all of them another common connection is gallstones.
Constipation is also a
symptom of B12 deficiency can be caused from celiac which happened to me one can be deficient in the following also VitD, Folate, & iron because they are absorbed in the gut I was deficent in all my ferritin was getting lower but not anemic.......
You could always try to go gluten free for a few months at least to see if you are better it shouldn't do any harm.........But you need to be very pedantic about not having any not even a crumb.......
I would strongly recommend having some blood tests and also do some research on gluten to find out more......I am in no way saying this is a fact but the bipolar may be connected in there somewhere......
I wish you luck
