Question Distress Help Please

I thought I would post here-cause I am not sure what is wrong with me. I have been to the md and was told I have gasritis and I do have diverticulitis. I am in menopause too. I have had 5 colonics done to try to solve my constipation problem. But seems not helping yet.The movements just don't want to come down to come out. I have terrible hemmoroids now cause of it. Also passing mucus. The colonics woman said I am acidy and have alot of gas in me. I take fiber and drink but still don't seem to come down. I get so full and bloated I feel miserable. I feel I have become dependant on milk of magnesia. I have to dig the stool out. I read that magnesium is suppose to help-I took a 200mg of magnesium citrate and just have mush sitting in me. Still won't come out.Fiber causes alot of pressure around belly button and also my ileovalve sticks alot and this prevents movements from happening.I am also under alot of stress and was told this can effect your bowels. Do I need to be more patient or how long do I have to suffer just to have a movement. I also take acidolfilus and priobiotic and does not help. I am just miserable and scared. I don;t know what to do anymore and have tried everything and don;t know why nothing is working. Please don;t tell me to go to the doc cause I have been there and now she wants me to take lactolose. I have been posting on the the bowel disorder board. What would cause movements not to come down? Is it true gasritis does this. WOuld do much acid cause constipation? Could I have parasites? Had a blood test for hploria but was told it could be there and won't show up in test. I work with a chiro that does muscle testing and she keeps saying it is all stress. Doc wants me to take paxil but know that is constipatin. Someone please help!

hi Spirit,

Have you tried cutting out acidic foods (some fruits), as well as apples, prunes and bananas?

You may also want to try Bile salts pills if you haven't before. See if this works for you and adjust the level to suit your needs.

Also, a stress relieving method that I invented may be useful to help alleviate some of your stress:

Pick a time when you are relaxed somewhere and have about five free minutes. Imagine something that makes you angry for 10 - 20 seconds (don't have to time this). Now imagine other feelings, which you regularly have, one by one that you wish to control in similar 15 - 25 second cycles. Work on this for about 2-3 minutes and leave yourself some time to relax afterwards. (I am aware of why this works, but I won't explain here - its too long). Some feelings you might want to explore are apathy, depression, fear and sadness (you want to explore plenty of this). Make sure that you completely free your mind of the previous feeling before exploring the new feeling. So give yourself some time at the near the end of your cycle to relax and clear the mind completely. Do not time yourself - this increases stress to finish on time.

Well, I hope that some of these techniques work for you.

Cheers, Raju.

Hi Spirit,

Bile salts are usually used as a supplement for people who have had their gall bladder removed. The gall bladder produces bile which helps with the digestion of fats and simultaneously acts as a laxative as the food passes through the intestines. It absorbs water and allows the body to have smooth BMs. Too much bile can act as an irritant in the large intestine and cause pain and diarhea, or too little bile can cause constipation and pain.

I occasionally take a quarter of a bile salt pill with my meals and this helps me considerably reduce pain and constipation. They taste terrible (if you keep them too long in your mouth), but they are non-addictive.

Cheers, Raju.

I am a 40 year old female. I had lower and upper right abdominal pain for over 2 years, accompanied by some constipation, excessive bloating, extreme gas, worsened by exercise. Undiagnosed after several doctors and tests. I figured out on my own that the major problem was eating beef...so I stay away from it. It has made a big difference and my quality of life is much better now. If you eat beef you may want to try giving it up and see what happens. Good luck!
