Is this ibs how do i know - Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Message Board

HI I am 20 years old and I recently started having daily diarrhea, alot of gas, pain and pressure in my pelvic region, heartburn, pain when going to the bathroom. All these all syptoms of IBS and how can I be sure it is that and nothing really bad? Ive had an upper gi and abdominal ultrasound recently and they both turned out fine.

Hi there - only your doctor can determine IBS as a process of elimination or based on your symptoms. If he does diagnose IBS, then he should also come up with some solutions for you. It's important that you get plenty of fiber with fluids and you might want to take acidophilus capsules for necessary intestinal bacteria. Keep us posted on your symptoms and I'm sure someone will have some helpful advice for you.
