Dear Friends at Healthboards.....
Happy Easter to you all first and a query too.... Does anyone else notice that when they have bouts of diarrhoea that when they look in the pan there is a film of greasy/oil... I have been told I have loads of fats in my faeces yet I do not eat a great deal.. I eat healthly and grill things...
I have to visit the loo within maybe half an hour of eating... and I have what looks like a cowpat ... but lots of grease, even after a plate of steamed vegetables... and foul smelling too...
Please shed some light on this for me if you can and tell me is this normal for us ibsers...

Hi Janie. Yep, it happens to me when I have bouts of "D" too - but since starting Colestid, I've only had a few bouts of diarrhea. Have you been checked for gall bladder disease? This could be causing your diarrhea, and the greasy look to it? Or some kind of digestive absorption problem?

Dear Katie,
Thank you for your quick response, I have had IBS for three years and the gastroenterologist has mentioned me not absorbing .... What other things could it be as I'm not up on absorption.... He said I has high fat content in my faeces ... But nothing more has been done ....
I would be grateful if you could explain ?am I not absorbing fats ????
Sorry to be a pain but this fats thingy is all new to me ....
