I've had IBS for many years. Constipation/stomach pains used to be the major problem. Then last year I started eating healthier (more fiber, less fat, less junk food, less alcohol, no caffeine), and then the constipation became much less frequent.
Since then, I've frequently had loose watery stools. Metamucil seems to help somewhat, especially in reducing the number of times I have to go.
Whenever I do feel the urge to go, I start to get the "nervous stomach" feeling, and I start sweating excessively in and around my anus, and I notice lots of dampness on my underwear. Do any other IBS sufferers have the same problem?
Thanks for the post, I am trying to find a way to reduce my IBS BMs, I too have many of my BM in the morningand my stomach quivers as well, I do not know why.
The only time I sweat is when I am in a full lockdown, meaning I have eten an offending food and it is trying to get out.
But I do have times when my BM are watery. During these times the stool is "flaky" and not well formed.
Is this similar to your situation
It seems that every time I feel the urge to go (whether or not I've eaten the wrong foods), I start sweating a lot down there -- even when my BM afterwards doesn't seem abnormal.
I'm wondering if stress has much to do with it (i.e. the nervous stomach, feeling the urge to go at work, wondering if I'll be able to have access to a clean public restroom, wondering about the sweating, etc.).
As I mentioned, the Metamucil seems to have helped to some degree. I started taking it a few feeks ago. I don't have to go as often as I used to (2-3 times a day versus 3-4 times), and my stools tend to be somewhat less watery.
I would love to just go once in the morning, right after breakfast and be done with it. Wouldn't most of us? :-(
