Post What to eat after an IBS-D or IBS-C episode

OK, I am learning what do avoid and changes in diet to reduce the possibility of and IBS episode. But, in the event of an IBS episode, what should you eat or drink to speed up your recovery?
I am drinking a lot of water, but what about solid foods. I feel your system is distressed during an episode and what you eat next may prolong your discomfort.

Any suggestions like Stonyfield Yogurt?

Hi, Frustrated1, a good topic!

I have IBS-D and generally do not feel like eating after an episode. I normally drink just plenty of water and for the first solid food after it I usually eat a banana.
Bananas work for me well and I have them at home always.

Bananas are extremely good to eat, especially after an attack of IBS that is diarrhea. When you have diarrhea, you are likely to lose potassium and as bananas are full of potassium, this is a good way of replacing it.

Good luck

Once again this is great advice, from both anutritional standpoint and a recovery standpoint.
I can fully understand not eating anything after an IBS-D episode. What about after an IBS-C. do you resume drinking Metamucil or something else. I am just recovering from a mildly intense episode so I am really tired right now - so please disregard any typing mistakes.
