Has anyone here tried or used this? I have been using on and off for about 3 weeks. It is used for IBS D and C contains 625 mg calcium polycarbophil. I have not seen any change. This weekend was bad for me, and is in fact bad this AM. Have pain in upper left quadrant, which is why I finally went to a gastro and he said is normal for those with IBS. Thanks for any input. I am going out today to get some Acidophilis and see if this helps at all.
Calcium Polycarbophil is a synthetic fiber that does not ferment and is not broken down by intestinal bacteria. It act sort of like a nonsoluble fiber. It is Marketed under the names of FiberCon, Equalactin and Mitrolan.
It works ok for some people but does not work like a water soluble fiber that ferments like the natrual fiber --- psyllium in Metamucil.
