Post WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
i KNOW i HAVE IBS BECAUSE THE DID A COLONOSCOPY ON ME LAST YEAR BUT MY DOC DIDN'T TELL ME WHAT TYPE i HAVE. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM? THANKS

Ibs and ulcerative colitis are similar.In ulcerative colitis the linging inside the rectum can become inflamed and bleed sometimes leadng to cancer of the bowel.I dont think ibs can lead to cancer of the bowel.Just a pain to deal with.

Also there ibs -c and ibs-d.One you have diahrrea with the other constipation.Or alternating diahrrea and constipation both.Colitis is a bowel problem similar to ibs but a llitle more serious.
