I have been diagnosed with IBS after years of suffering without knowing. The doctors I had been seeing would just send me home and tell me to take Milk of Mag or some other lax. I am now lax dependent and have a loss of motility. The doctor has tried other options but now has come to this. I would like to know if anyone has had one? If anyone has can you tell me your experiences, good and bad please.
Little nervous!
I have tried the psyllium husks and they really blow my stomach up. I had to have an engy tuby once, I hope I spelled that right. Since I have no motilily I cannot pass gas. I know that is gross. It all gets backed up in my stomach. The damage that the laxatives caused is the reason for the surgery not the IBS. The lack of diagnosis is the reason for the constant laxatives before. Thank you for your response I am really searching for info.
I just need to add something to my post if anyone can help me. I never get diarhea but my son got sick with a unuasual virus that caused blood and mucas. Well you know who had to take the sample culture to for the lab, me of course. I tried to be as sanitary as possible but guess what I got sick. I am now sick at my stomach. I am gurgling in what feels like my small intestines. I am cramping and am very nausious. I would just love to either throw up or have diarhea. I have felt this way for 3 days, but because of my loss of motility I can't go to the bathroom. Can someone give me some advice? Laxatives and herbal laxatives don't work on me since i am dependent.
I guess I don't need to be in this forum anymore. I found out. I don't have IBS I found out. I have a genetic disorder. I have a malformation in my colon. My colon didn't develop correctly in the womb. I will have to have hemicolectomy. Bye to all I will be in another forum.
