What causes the stool to float? Also it come out normal shape but falls apart with some undigested food. Crazy to talk about this, but always have wondered if it is caused by gas, fats, or malabsorbtion. I've been taking Prevacid and Zantac together for a GERD attack. Do this meds cause undigested food?

As far as I know, it is air in the stool that causes it to float. This may come from gas as a result from eating too quickly or malabsorption....perhaps your MD can advise more.
My husband's float, he eats well, has no IBS or malabsorptiojn or any digestive problem, but he does eat a lot faster than i do!
hope this helps.

I read somewhere that if a stool floats it's because you're eating plenty of fibre - so it's healthy.

I was told by my doctors that it was a form of malabsorption, although I don't seem to have that
That or a gas thing, if niether I would assume it was healthy.

I have heard if it floats it's healthy, but if it sinks it's because there is to much fat in your diet.
