| Veggies and Fruits suggestions/help
Hi,
I'm new here, have had IBS-D for about year and a half. Lately I have gone to eating smaller meals and cutting out fatty foods as best I can, as well as candy and such (my big weakness, chocolate).
Here is my typical day:
Breakfast: Bannana and 8oz+ of water.
Morn Snack: unsalted crackers, a piece of bread or maybe a small piece of fruit (apple, cantelope)
Lunch: Turkey sandwich, plain, on white bread. Applesauce, and water.
AFt. Snack - same.
Dinner: Chicken and rice with applesauce or peaches or some fruit. Water. Maybe an oreo cookie - just one.
While this has helped, I sometimes eat some red meat or slip and have some candy. I am not getting enough veggies and I am not on any fiber. My problem is that I CAN NOT eat green leafy veggies. I will practically throw up. I gag and choke when I try. People think I'm nuts, but believe me I WISH I could eat them for my own health.
My question is what do you all think I could add in the form of veggies that I could stomach? I love tomatoes and eat them often (chicken whopper for sure). But there is that controversy - veggie or fruit.
I was on Citrusel for awhile, but I had an attack where I fainted from the pain after I started it up again so I stopped - can Citrusel have negative effects? Maybe I have wierded myself out on that one, it seemed to help the D before..
Looking for suggestions!
For all of you, the smaller meals and cutting out all the pop in my diet and sticking to water has really helped. There is so much to eating right with this disorder. I am one of the worst eaters in the world too, so I know.
