For anyone who has read any of my messages they know that I am an IBS sufferer of the diarrhea form. I went to the gastroenterologist on Halloween for a colonoscopy. It came back normal. I had a small bowel series the next day & don't have the results on that yet. They put me on Colestid which reduces your blood cholesterol level & helps to bulk up your stools. It has bulked up the stools but I still have the urgency when I have to go. So I just thought that I would keep everyone informed in case they would like to know about me! Hi, Laura Jean. So glad your colonoscopy was normal; however, you'll still have to learn what works for you in controlling your IBS. My IBS has been much worse lately - more stress in my life doesn't help. Bentyl and Caltrate seem to help the most. One day I'm sure my doc is going to order a colonoscopy, but I was diagnosed about 15 years ago with IBS based on my symptoms, and the doc still feels that's what I have. Well the good luck that I was having is over.....on Nov. 12th my diarrhea problem came back and I think it's worse now!!! So I'm gonna go back to the Dr. again. Wish me luck.
Hello, Laura Jean. I wish you luck and keep me posted. Fortunately, my IBS has been more controlled with Bentyl 20mg 2-4 times daily + calcium supplements 3 times a day. I'll be thinking of you.
