i have been diagnosed with ibs for about 2 years now. i've always had stomach problems ("gall bladder" attacks, constipation, gas, nausea, etc.) and it really started after my dad died. i know stress and nerves really have a lot to do with what triggered mine. I have had every test i think (blood test, flex sig, barium enema, stool sample, upper GI, etc.) and no one could come up with anything, but....stress.
okay i better get to the point before i bore you guys. my problem is maybe for 2-3or4 days i won't "go" and then all of a sudden for 2 days i'll have loose (i'm sorry this sounds gross) stools that cause the most painful "oh my gosh i'm in agony pressure pain" cramps maybe 2 times or more a day. it always comes at the most inopportune time too (like at work because i can't go in public for fear of embarrassment maybe). my question is, does anyone suffer from "roller coaster" bowel movements with this and how do you handle it. i still have imodium in my purse just in case of an emergency if there should ever be one, i carry ginger root tablets for my nausea, i carry tagament for my indigestion.
thanks for your input. i hate living like this but my doctor says there is nothing i can do except take nerve pills, watch what i eat, etc.
