So I am currently in the middle of what appears to be a long IBS flare-up (tests are pending!) Does anyone else get really fatigued with their IBS. I like to be really active, but at the moment - on the rare occasion that I am able to get to the gym, I am - at most - managing 50% of my normal workout and then? i'm exhausted (and often need to go to the toilet after the gym). Is this normal with IBS???
Yes its very normal. Perhaps not with eveyone but I certainly get this. What treatment are you on and have you been medically diagnosed.
Do you have any other symptoms. Do what you can when you can. I try to keep active myself, but if I sit down for a time I can find myself dropping off. Solofelix.

well I went to my doctor (again) today - who's ordered repeat blood/stool tests to rule out any infection - but they were 'pretty sure' it's IBS and nothing more sinister. At the moment, i've been prescribed:
- Buscopan (for cramps)
- Zantac (antacid)
I know it sounds a little weak of me to say so, but it's REALLY getting me down at the moment, I can feel that even in the last 5wks that I've had this flare-up, my life seems to have been really adversely affected.

Hi, yes it does get you down I agree. Ive had 2.5yrs of AR/GERD, Hiatal Hernia, and Diverticulitis. I was in good health until I got H.PYLORI, then everything else followed along. Look up IBS and see if Diet adjustment can help. I haven't done any good with drugs and have now started looking at my diet, its early days yet, but we have to do what we can to try and help ourselves. Hope you soon get some treatment to help you. Let us know how you get on with the blood tests. This is a great site for support. All the best, Solofelix.

Thank you so much, I actually feel a lot less alone with this having found the support on this forum. I was almost in tears today because I simply cant keep up with my normal schedule of work, and so forth because of this. And then I made the mistake of googling my symptoms, and got worried about stomach-cancer and allsorts....
