I have had severe irritable bowel syndrome for years,now at the point where it is ruining my life,its a living nightmare!I would like to ask if anyone chronically strains on a daily basis to get soft stools out as i have to do this all the time.My bowel will not and never empty's without me needing to force it out.I've tried many medications and alternative therapies to help,to no avail!My pelvic floor is weak because of the straining and i'm scared of causing a prolapse due to the severity of straining.I never get any relief at all,Doctors are baffled and don't know what to do to help,which doesn't leave me with much else to try.I've been told i'm not typically constipated,because my stools are soft,but for some reason wont pass out of me .I'm persistently bloated and suffer pelvic and rectum pain a lot and also hemmarhoids all the time!It's such an awful uncomfortable condition!
Can anyone give any advice/help.

Hi, I suffer a similar problem. I haven't been diagnosed with IBS but I do have Diverticulitis and AR/GERD also Hiatal Hernia. Ive either (D) or (C). Its so annoying. I know how you feel, its as tho you've been padlocked in your Rectum and yet you feel you need to go.
Like you I have tried numerous things and the best I found was (ORTIS FRUIT CUBES), totally natural and made from Figs/Dates and other natural ingredients. Available from your Health Shop or Chemist, tasty too. Worth a try. Good Luck, Solofelix.

I've tried stool softners before,unfortunately they dont help,but saying that my stools are soft anyway,so should really be passing without any problem,but dont!

Have you had a Colonscopy or any other examination of your rectum.
Perhaps it could be a Muscular problem.

Solofelix,yes i've had colonoscopy and every available invasive test done over the years.I'm baffled as well as the doctors!Thank you again for trying to help.
