lactose intolerance even if the test said I'm not ??

I had the test 12-13 years ago and it was negative, but I have a problem with dairy almost all my life. how that can be ?
My dr. said I have IBS based on my symptoms and told me to try fodmap diet. My ibs is the changing kind, ok for a while then constipation or diarrhea , even in the same day I can have normal bowel movement or a hard one, and then a loose one.
