Re: Why are some people more successful than others?

A while back I read a book that answered that very question. Although there are quite a few things that depend on our own efforts, there is also luck that we should not forget. I would say that some people are more successful than others because they are more lucky?!

Re: Why are some people more successful than others?

I think luck is a small part of it, and all successful people go through set backs. I've read a quote this morning (not sure who came up with it), which I thought was very true (and I apologize for the language):
"Success is like getting pregnant -- everyone congratulates you but they have no idea how many times you got f%cked"

Re: Why are some people more successful than others?

It's either a matter of luck, or some people just grab opportunities which eventually make them more succesful. But either way, it's always about hardwork.

They have a lot of determination and will power. Successful people always put themselves in a position to capitalize on new opportunities, they are not afraid to fail. They have a lot of confidence and are self motivated to achieve their goals. They are usually more positive about things instead of always seeing the negative in everything.

Lots of times that is the case but not always. I have been asking myself this question alot lately. But everyones brains are wired differently, and i think that has ALOT to do with it. Thats why when I hear ppl call others "lazy", it can be upsetting in certain situations unless its blatantly obvious they really are just being lazy bc they are spoiled/feel a sense of entitlement..etc. But i think in lots of cases it could be some underlying health cause that they may not even know exists. They are probably very unhappy with themselves for being this way also. I have been struggling recently with my health and everyone keeps telling me, "just quit thinking about it, think positive. U are sick bc u are thinking negatively". When in reality that is NOT true. If they felt like i did i highly doubt they would be positive. Sometimes hormone/thyroid issues make it IMPOSSIBLE for ppl to be happy and think positive, no matter how hard they try, due to imbalance or whatever the cause may be. I think it does help when ppl are brought up in a positive environment vs a negative one/bad childhood. There are so many factors really. Good question!

I think good luck matters so much. If you are lucky you can be successful but hard working is an essential.

You have nothing to be worried about being weak is a part of life and every one has their weak spots.Listening to music is found to calm a person and make you think of life and its ups and downs just stay positive and keep moving forward.

I do agree being happy isn't as easy for some as it is for others and we all handle situations differently. I do believe to certain extent is has a lot to do with our upbringing, but I will say that genetics seem to be the most deciding factor for some.
Unfortunately genetics play a vital role in every aspect of our lives. I also really dislike it when others say that your problems aren't that bad and its just your negative thinking... its apparent that these people are very ignorant when it comes to this sort of stuff. If the tables were turned they would feel and think the same way.. I just try not to critizize others that have misunderstood lives because we don't know what is going on the inside of them and I sure wouldn't want to say something to make them feel worse.

It also depends greatly on what we consider as success...
