Hi everyone,
I'm new here, this being my first post:-)
I seen this subject about pets and thought i'd go ahead and introduce myself with a reply as well.
So, firstly, I'm belvadere, and I'm glad to have found this board. I'm hoping its pretty active(I didn't actually check the dates of any posts, probably should have. Oh well fnd out soon enough.)
Secondly, in answer to the post, YES I have two awesome cats which I adore. They are like mine and my husbands kids, we spoil them rotten and they also spoil us with a ton of love. One we've had for almost 4 years, he waits at the door when hubby pulls up(on the back of the recliner which puts him at perfect height to be rubbed as hubby enters)) I swear it's as if he has some canine in him. So cute. It almost seems he knows when I start to begin dinner that 'daddy' will be home soon.
Then our second cat, female, we rescued from the neighborhood about 5 months ago. She was so pitiful, on the brink of no more meows. So skinny and matted full of flees. She was the sweetest thing, came up to me one day I'd walked out to see something in the lot and just licked my hands and purred when I pet her. What a sight she was. It'd been the worst week of storms we'd had in a long time. I remember seeing this kitty a week or so before and thought "what the heck is that" She looked like a wet rat running around under parked cars. Then the day I actually touched her and how sweet she was. I thought well, we'd just foster her, get her back to health some and see how things go(because we'd just a month before buried a Siamese we'd had for a year or so. He'd gotten outside and into fight with something, I was devastated when I found him in the woods behind the house.) I wasn't entirely sure I was ready for another feline, not to mention our four year old male. But this lil kitty stole our heart and gets along pretty well with the male we have as well. She's very laid back and very healthy & happy now. We found out she had been adopted thru the shelter by our neighbor and the neighbor had thrown her out because of his 2yr old. My biggest question was why didn't you take her back to the shelter, which come to find out he'd signed a contract with them that it was the appropriate thing to do. Well the shelter has her down now as our cat. The neighbor was kind enough to bring us her tags and paperwork. So now we have two awesome kittys. The new one unfortunately suffers from some psoriasis though we're working on curing it. Need to get a vet appointment. She's spay and up to date with shots so we really wasn't worried about going but she is suffering with the itchies I think. It's definitely a commitment. Its so worth it! I love my kitty cats!
happy,belvadere

hahaha... what a great name, calling her after Lucille Ball. how appropriate....hahaha.
We have a mutt. Her name is Lola. Our daughter brought her home and found her in the street when she was a puppy. I was so mad. But Lola is an inspiration to me now. ha ha. She is the best dog we could have. She only did one poopy in the house and never again. She is so smart it is amazing.
I have a yorkshire terrier called Gizmo , we called him that after gizmo the Gremlin, because when he was a puppy he looked like a gremlin ha ha!! He is 11yrs old now, and as my wife passed away 10months ago, he is my only companion at home. At least he keeps me fit as I have to walk him 3 times a day! I love him to bits !!

So sorry about your wife. Yes my sammy helps me alot. It is so cool on how they just know you don't feel good. But my puppy is up my butt all the time. I get mad some times cause I don't feel so good. Than I feel so bad. My oldest son says my love for sammy isn't normal. I think it is he's just like my baby. But better cause he really doesn't talk back. lol

Harry is an orange tabby, with black whiskers and fur along his back and tail. When I first got him, a rescue, I gave him a hot bath cause I thought he was dirty. Not dirty, silver!! On an orange cat? He also has freckles on his nose and little mouth.
Leonard is a grey tabby, with the usual white feet, belly, and part of his face. Hes my pretty boy, total mommas boy. He is 5 years old now, had him since we he was just a lil tot. I am not allowed to pick him up, and the only spot he will cuddle is across my chest. Yeah, a full grown male cat. Good thing Im endowed..
Biggie is still a kitten, only over a year old now. He is beautiful, black long hair with yellow eyes. He is an outside cat and somehow he is still shiny! Very verbal, like Harry and loves his munchies!! Big cuddles!
So, those are my boys. They drive me nuts, but keep me sane. I am sure you all know that feeling. xoxo
I have a nine-year-old American Shorthair Calico cat named Callie. She is definitely a character. She's very vocal. She has all kinds of different meows and chittering noises, and she just "talks" all the time. I love it. She's in love with my dad. She will take a flying leap up onto his chest, and then he'll hold her there and she'll rub all over his chin. Me and my mom get jealous because she doesn't pay a lot of attention to us! Although when I sit at the table and eat cereal in the morning, Callie likes to come up and stand in my lap while I eat. Hahaha.
Most of our family and friends have never seen her, though because she hides under the bed whenever anyone comes over!
She used to hiss a lot too, which I usually thought was hilarious because she was so dramatic about it, but she stopped doing that ever since her sister died (we had another cat from the same litter- a Torbie named Puffy, but she got liver cancer and we had to have her put to sleep a few months ago. )
I used to have a cat named Sylvester. He was black and white. I got him when I was 5 years old, and he was really MY cat. He would always be in my lap, and he would let me carry him around. But he died when I was 21. I was SOOOOO SAD. I had a really hard time when he died.
I've also had a couple of Betta fish. One of them I had for over 3 years, and who knows how long it had been in the pet store before I bought it. But they usually only have about a 2-year life span!
We have a few pets, 2 half ragdolls cats, sister & brother, Mitzy & Barney, beautiful long furred cats with the ragdoll temperment, the male just flops out across the floor and looks dead lol, the female is very small and dainty with a very soft meow but big soppy eyes, then we have one of Mitzy's kittens, a silver grey moggy called Tom, which is weird as my son loved Tom & Jerry cartoons when she was pregnant and asked if we had a grey kitten could we call it Tom, well due to Mitzy's colouring and the local moggy we thought she mated with, we never thought in a million years she could have a grey kitten but low & behold out popped a grey male kitten so how could we call it anything but 'Tom'. We also love reptiles, so we have had two 8 year old male Bearded Dragons since they were babies, whose 2 x big 4ft vivs have taken up a whole side of our living room, and we have just purchased a leopard gecko for my 11 year old first pet for his room. We would also love to get a chameleon but at the moment don't have space for another viv.
I have two cats and they're probably my best friends in the world.
Not to suggest that I don't have wonderful human friends, just that these two fur balls are so much fun to be around.
