I don’t know if this is correct place to post this but we are animal lover, I can’t remember a day when our house was not full of pets.
Today me had our buddy and friend of eleven years put to sleep. Tom, one of our cats went fast, over a period of a few weeks, he developed problems with his throat and was unable to breath and eat and despite all our efforts there was no way back .
I know most people say it is the kindest thing to do but gosh it certainly didn’t feel like the kindest thing. I also guess over time the feeling of guilt will wear off. I don’t care what anybody says but pets are part of our family and losing one, even a silly little black and white cat, is a painful as losing any other member of your family.

I had 3 cats, now 2, had to put Wanda to sleep a couple of months ago, she was 16 years old, very very sad, I cannot forget her last moments in my arms, the vet told me it was the best we could do for her, she was so sick, but why didn't it feel that way?
I keep dreaming about her, I had her from weeks old, my little white ball of fur, she was precious, I miss her so much!
My other 2 one is a tabby, Sissy, very very vocal and she loves to be all over me and my hubby, my friend was working and saw her on the streets, every time she saw her she would be talking about how sweet she was so we finally decided to rescue her, she got along with Wanda pretty well but not with my other cat, Sushi, all black and beautiful, but such a bully!! she is an adorable pet, loves to be pampered but very jealous of any other cat.
They are wonderful companions, I can't imagine not having them, my house would be so empty!
I have the world's pet dachshund. Short-haired, black and tan, and beyond loving a lovable. He seems to be able to sense my emotions and is always by my side when I need him. Sometimes, he is needy too; wanting attention at the most annoying times. For instance, he'll actually rest across my belly with his head on the laptop. Annoying but sweet. He's the best pet I've ever had and I'm glad he is only 4 years old because once my son graduates HS he'll live across country and I'll have an empty nest. Boy, will Sir Gunther be even more spoiled!

Reason: silly typos.
That is surpising that you have 2 cats and a fish - I wonder if they spend their day watching the fish! I used to have cats, but now I have an Eskie puppy.

I also have a pet dachshund named Star and she's quite the charmer. I just love and adore her pretty face and her excitement every time we come home from work, church and school.
She's like a sister to us and I just love how she cuddles with us at night. Such a charmer and sweet pooch right?
Hi everyone, I don't think I could ever be happy without having pets! I've lived with dogs all my life and now live with both a cat and a dog. I rescued both my dog and cat (at different times). I now have a 7-year-old Boston Terrier, who is a 'special needs' dog and requires his food to be pre-digested with enzymes. He is the most lovable and loyal dog I've ever had and is definitely worth all the care he gets. My cat was found as a kitten by my daughter; and, of course, he soon became mine after she left for college!
I know the sadness of losing a dog. I certainly agree that it's the same sadness and grief as it is when you lose a member of your family!!! There is nothing worse, in my opinion, than watching the vet give your dear friend the injection to end its life. Even though you know it must be done to help your dear best friend end his/her misery, it's still the hardest thing ever to do!!!
And, it's very difficult to allow your pet to be put out of its misery when the time comes! Mabent
