Black eyed peas Black-Eyed Peas A Southern Tradition for Luck and Prosperity in the New Year dont forget |
Re: Black eyed peas Can't forget .... wife makes Black-eyed Pea Soup (from the Black-Eyed Pea restaurant) YUM!!!! |
Re: Black eyed peas My local supermarket puts them on sale before new year's day so every year I usually buy enough to last several months. At one pound for .79 cents, I bought about fifteen bags. So I expect I will be very lucky and very prosperous throughout the year. :-) But I wonder how long they will keep. Does anyone know? |
Re: Black eyed peas
But I wonder how long they will keep. Does anyone know?
I assume these peas are dried so I would of thought you will not need to buy any more next year or the year after lol Happy new year Aquilo |
Re: Black eyed peas did it really bring good luck to you guys?anyone here? |
Re: Black eyed peas
did it really bring good luck to you guys?anyone here?
Ha! That's a good question. I had forgotten all about the luck aspect until I read your question. I just ran out of black eyed peas and bought more. It was lucky that I thought to take advantage of a good sale last December, but bad luck that I didn't buy enough to last the whole year. Next time I will buy at least 30 bags. :) On balance, I'm doing well. I would like to think it's the result of living a good lifestyle and making wise decisions, but I have to admit there's always a little luck involved. :) |
