Pain in my side - Kidney Disorders Message Board

I am experiencing pain in my side (right where my right kidney is). This pain is very dull unless I cough or sneeze then it hurts like a ??@@!! The pain is like a bruised pain (tender). Is it possible I've pulled a muscle or is this more serious. I have never had a stone before.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm not a big fan of Doctor's.

Also, come to think of it - is it possible to crack a rib with a big sneeze, I've been feeling around and the pain seems to be coming from the side of my rib cage near the bottom.

Weird....

Kidney pain will be more in your back or side (the flank it is called) and it doesn't feel like a pulled muscle. It won't get worse with a cough or sneeze really. What it more feels like is a dull pain which waxes and wanes in its frequency throughout the day.
