What can it be? Any ideas please

I have had an ongoing problem with pain in my loins & groin area for nearly two years now.

I have had numerous UTI's which seem to be getting more & more frequent.
Each time my urine is tested it shows blood, protein & pus.

I've recently had a stay in hospital, as I was in so much pain although no stones were found, they still found blood in the urine.
I had a test done (not sure what it is called!) where they inject dye in to you and then take x-rays as the dye passes round & into the kidneys.
That was ok.
I have also had a cytoscope(?) used to have a look at my bladder.
Apparently that was fine too.

But I am still passing blood and still have occasional pain in the loin area. My kidneys sometimes feel really sore.
I am urinating very frequently, but I think that may be because of all the fluids I drink.
can any body suggest what I can do now, or what is causing these symptoms please.

you have discribed my symptoms to the T..... i have been having pain in my lower right side for a long time now......i have gotten so use to it that i didnt pay any attention to it until i had to visit the doctor due to an infection..... 3 rounds of antibiotics is what it took to get rid of the infection... the doctor said that my urine test had shown alot of puss and protein, along with a large amount of blood......my last urine test showed that the infection was gone and the protein was no longer a problem but i was still showing alot of blood in my urine...... i had a cat scan to see if there was a stone or tumor and the test was negative for both...... i now have an apointment with a specialist in the morning who has informed me that what he expects to find is pollips which may be cancerous....... iam scared to death...... the pain in my side went away after taking the antibiotics but has returned in the last couple of days.....i have a feeling that it is a stone and the cat scan just didnt show it for some reason....at least i hope that is what it is......the pain is sharp at times but mostly dull and bruised like feeling......i will let you know what the out come is after tomorrow......

Hi Silver Fox.

I hope your pollips dont turn out to be cancerous.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write, and please keep me informed with what is happening to you.
I am going to check out the internet for any items i can find on pollips and things now, as it sounds like that is what i may have too.
Please let me know the outcome of your tests
Good luck to you!!

HI Bambi

The test showed normal.....hooray.!!!!! The next test will be on monday. The doctor is going to run the dye in my kidneys to see if it reveals a kidney stone that for some reason the cat scan didnt pick up... He says that sometimes this happens. If it shows normal (no stones) then i will have to visit my gynocoligist to make sure that the pain i am feeling is not somehow linked to my overies. He also said that in some people it is perfectly normal to bleed through the kidneys. very rare but normal for some people...its called hemo something..were not talking about alot of blood.....i cant visibily see the blood...if you can visibily see it then it is not normal....
Have you had any more test done? let me know how you are doing Bambi...i hope your test come back good too....Silver fox

HI Silver Fox.
I am so glad your tests were normal. I bet that was a great relief!!!
What a relief for you.
I have visited my gynaegologist whilst having all my pains, and he checked my uterus and ovaries. Apparently mine are fine, so I know my problems are not gynaegolocial.
Normally I can not see the blood in my urine, it only shows up when I have my urine tested. Ocassionally the urine is a lot darker looking than normal (not sure if that's blood or what it is!) and it can be slightly frothy at times too (i believe that is the protein in the urine that causes that.)
I'm not sure what else my doctor is going to do for me. At the moment I am just waiting to hear from the hospital about more tests.
Please keep in touch and let me know how you are going with your tests and things and I will do the same for you.
I hope you aren't too ill at the moment, and will be alright.
Best wishes to you and hope to have a reply from you soon.
Bambi
xx
