Is fluctuating blood pressure hard on kidneys?

I have been seeing a kidney doctor for protein in the urine. I have recently switched blood pressure medication, and my bp seems to be fluctuating a lot more than normal. Sometimes it is 104/80...sometimes it is 120/63...sometimes it is 117/75....sometimes 125/86. Is it harmful to have it read this many different readings in just a few hours time? Is it ok if it goes up to 86 on the bottom once or twice a day? I have tried to reach my kidney doctor all week and haven't been able to, so I'm hoping its alright! Thanks for any info!
