My Dr,did a renal ultrasound and told me that on top of me having the multiple kidney stones I also have left prominent column of Bertin in my ureter, and a slightly dilated proximal inferior vena cava. Does anyone know if this is of any significance I dont know what it means and I cant find information on this.

Any help would be great thanks

I would think the dilated proximal inferior vena cava would be an enlarged vein that goes to the kidney. Is the latter here on the left kidney also? I do not know the significance of either of these definitions just looking up some info for you.

Have you had an IVP? [intraveinous pyelogram] or nuclear imaging done? besides the renal ultrasound [which isnt the most accurate test]

HINT: go to **** or half.com and look for books on kidney disease. they are cheap used. It's what i have had to use to find out informaiton like this. I just dont have my book with me at the moment.

I Am Trying To Find Out If Anyone Has This Problem With Their Kidneys? If So, What Is It And What Treatment Is Being Done. In Urine There Appeared To Be Dark Blk And White Kidney Stones With Burs. When Report Came Back It Said Fiber And Cellular--not Kidney Stone. Doctor Said Dark Was Blood (looked Like Sand In Huge Amounts) And Other Was Tissue, And It Was Coming From The Kidneys, But He Didn't Know Why Or Cause, And Recommended Seeing A Kidney Doctor. He Is Internal Med. Doctor. Would Appreciate Any Information On This You May Have.

Yes, i would definitely see a nephrologist about what your doctor said. I do not have any information to give you though. I havent experienced what youre going through. But def get to the specialist to have him explain what's going on and see about possible remedies
