I would think the dilated proximal inferior vena cava would be an enlarged vein that goes to the kidney. Is the latter here on the left kidney also? I do not know the significance of either of these definitions just looking up some info for you.
Have you had an IVP? [intraveinous pyelogram] or nuclear imaging done? besides the renal ultrasound [which isnt the most accurate test]
HINT: go to **** or half.com and look for books on kidney disease. they are cheap used. It's what i have had to use to find out informaiton like this. I just dont have my book with me at the moment.
