Test Results High - Kidney Disorders Message Board

My recent urine tests came back with the following disorders:
WBC Esterase 3+
Protein 1+
WBC 20-30 (limits 0-5)

My doctor said the urine was clean! I noticed these abnormal results when I checked my resukts at home. I am a well controlled diabetic with medication.
These levels seem alarming to me!
There were only a few bacteria, so it can't be a big infection. Why would my WBC count be so high? I do have protein and the WBC Esterase is also high. Anyone know what could be going on? Why didn't my doctor mention these abnormalities?

Cher, Call your Dr soon and ask about these results. Ask the Dr the same questions you asked here. Maybe they are not as bad as you think. Good Luck. Amy

Could be your Dr. felt that all your tests in conjunction did not concern him.
The protein, from what I've read, is still in normal range, although the highest range, and he will just keep an eye on it.

There are several causes for the high WBC, but he should be able to tell you what. I would just ask to talk to him directly to set your mind at ease. Do you have a follow up appt. with him? If not, I would just call the office.
