Had IVP yesterday - Kidney Disorders Message Board

Hi there,

I am experiencing my very first kidney stone experience

and I have had pain since last Wednesday. I had an IVP done yesterday and I am still waiting on results of it. My side and my lower back is still hurting and my stone hasn't passed. My normal temp is 97.4 degrees and today it is registering at 98.7. Should I be concerned or do anything different?

Maybe you should contact your doctor to let he or she know what your temperature is.

Also, which side is hurting? My right side and stomache has been bothering me now for a little while but I am drinking my water!

Hi there, thanks for responding.

It is my right side that is bothering me and lower right side of my back. I have taken 8 Advil today and drinking water like crazy. I am anxiously waiting to hear the results from my IVP. Have you passed your stone yet?

Hi Gopackgo,

You took 8 Advil today, no, no, that is too much. There are alot of pain killers out there that are not good for kidneys, they can do more harm than good. If you have Tylenol, or Tylenol 3 take them. You aren't supposed to take more than 8 Advil in a 24 hr. period.

Did someone tell you to take all of these pills?
