Advice please - Kidney Disorders Message Board

My husband is changing life ins. companies and he had to have blood and urine tests, I am very worried because all of the stuff to do with kidneys came back elevated,and his urine was positive for blood. He had this done on a Monday and he had been fishing for 1 week with lots of beer drinking until the day before, also he had just finished cutting grass with lots of sweating right before the nurse came, could these things affect the results? His creatinine was 807, LDL 167, HDL 5.5, Hyalne Casps 1000, micro albumin 8.5 and protein 39......Any advice? TIA

I think it can alter 'some' tests but not all.your hubbys #s are kinda high in some areas and the fact that they did find blood in his urine 'could' possibly mean that he indeed has some sort of kidny issus.I am not quite sure just what you mean by his creatinine being at 807 as the range runs between 0.6-1.5mg/dl.So i really cannot tell just how out of range that is.but I can tell you that a higher than normal level of creatinine is one of the bigger indicators of kidney problems.I have to have this tested twice a year as I have polycystic kidneys,so far so good.i do think that your husband definitely needs to see his doc for some follow up tests and have all those same labs retested to see how accurate the other tests were.an ultrasound would also be a good idea as it can detect certain obvious problems with the kidneys.I hope thing are not too bad for your husband.He does need to follow up on this though as soon as he can.good luck,Marcia

The creatinine in the blood was 1.4 but in the urine it was 807 with the expected range being 27.0 to 260.0. I am making him a Dr. appt. I agree he need to have the tests redone by a Dr.

Yes, definitely make an appt with his primary doc who can then possibly refer him to a good nephrologist.if these are indeed accurate numbers, his creatinine is way above the norm which would indicate there is definitely something going on with his kidneys.I will be hoping for the best.Please keep me posted on what you find out.Marcia
