Mild Kidney Pain = Stones? - Kidney Disorders Message Board

Hello,

I know most kidney stones bring some extreme pain, but for the past 3 weeks, I've been feeling some mild pain/discomfort, with accompanying pressure in my left kidney area, sometimes radiating to my left side and lower right back. I am also experiencing some mild occasional nausea. I've experienced no intense pain, no urinary issues whatsoever, and don't notice much difference after urination.

Finally, it may just be coincidental, but I started experiencing these symptoms after a trip to Vegas and some far heavier than usual alcohol consumption.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Hello, I'm no expert and I know that a discomfort in the kidney area could have several explanations. The first one that come to my mind are two: you could either have a mild infection in your bladder (why don't you run a urine test?) or some gravel in your kidney, alas tiny stones that will pass with only a light discomfort. Or they have already passed and you're experiencing the "aftermath".
In any case, I would get in touch with your doctor to get rid of the unpleasant symptoms

I have been seeing my family doctor and keeping in touch with my urologist for the exact same mild kidney pain. Check my post from april 26th regarding the same sort of pain.

I have had stones for five years. Some worse than others. Lately I have had some pain and pressure in my kidney and bladder. After a CT Scan two weeks ago, they told me I have multiple bilateral stones, however, no obstructions.

My family doctor told me I am probably passing "sludge". I have been trying to up the water intake, but I am weary because I don't want to force these things out due to the pain. But I know they are no good left in because they can grow.

Hope that helps. I would call your doctor. I don't think drinking would hurt your kidney's.

it seems we have the same stones history, you have all my support. I've been having stones for four years, different size, the biggest one has been of 7mm, the first one. I form gravel as I breathe and at the moment aside from a 3mm stone in my left kidney, both my kidneys are filled with tiny stones. In four years I had about only three months without stones and without pain or discomfort. What are yours made of? Mine are calcium oxalate. Have the doctors given you any suggestion of a remedy to stop the formation, or at least to slow it down? I'm pretty desperate because all they say to me there is nothing wrong with my kidneys ( thank God) and that it's my metabolism's fault. So I'll probably have them forever.
Not looking forward to it..lol.
At the moment I'm taking a herbal remedy which is supposed to break the stones making it easier for them to pass. Don't know if we're allowed to post remedies in this forum, if we are and you're interested, I'll post it for you and whoever needs it. To me it seems to be working.
