Re: Stent removal....
Hi Jen,
I just had stent removal yesterday. The only part of it that truly hurt was the insertion of the cystoscope, wow, i must have been sore already and it hurt like hell when they put it in, but the pain went away and the actual stent being removed didn't hurt me at all, in fact it felt good in a weird slippery way. By the time I got home my back was feeling sore and my bladder was burning, by the time i got onto the couch i was crying in agony, It felt like my kidneys turned into stone and everthing from my kidneys to my groin area were in such intense pain i couldn't stand it. I almost went to the e.r., but i knew they wouldn't do anything for it. I had a few dilaudid pain pills laying around that were my mom's so i took those. The vicodan that the doctor gave me did nothing to help. Anyway the pain lasted for hours, and the funny part is that i noticed you said you were nauseated. I was soooo nauseated, throwing up about every fifteen minutes. Nobody ever claimed to be sick to their stomach so I was getting scared that something else was wrong with me. I do have kidney infection from all of the stones I had, so i thought maybe the infection might cause nausea (?) From what you described it sounds like we pretty much had the same reaction to removal. Today i am slightly better, at least i'm not crying, but i am taking some heavy duty drugs for the pain. I refuse to ever have that cystosccope put into me without being knocked out again, and never will go home without something equivalent to morphine for those spasms again either. I sure hope you mended well. I am laying here wondering if this pain will be totally gone so I can cook for Christmas...
