Hi all,

I can't believe this myself but it holds true for me, I don't know how it will work for you.

I had started to get a cold sore over a week ago and I thought, I can't go through another cold sore for 2 weeks.

So I searched the web and found out about L Lysine, so I bought a bottle of it and started taking it every day. I have been taking this for a little over a week and the cold sore is gone, but more amazing, I have passed a kidney stone. I had pain in my kidney 2 nights ago and then about 2 hours into my sleep I awoke to pain down in my bladder, I went to the bathroom and I was in alot of pain, that next morning I passed the kidney stone.

I couldn't believe it because I thought to myself, these things must be producing the stones, so I got scared, well I did another search on the web and found out that if you don't have enough Lysine in your diet, that your body will produce kidney stones.

So I am taking this every day now and I am going to find out when I have my xray in November about this. And when it shows that there are no kidney stones, I will be the happiest person ever.

I will let you all know how it worked and hopefully if you want to take a chance I would.

What is L Lysine used for? (Sorry, I'm too lazy to do research right now...)

L Lysine is an amino acid (I believe). It has proven to put the herpes virus into remission. Which means shingles, cold sores, and believe it or not poison ivy (I didn't realize it was the herpes virus), also chicken pox. There is some evidence that taken over a long period of time it could be harmful, but you need to research that because I know people who have taken it for years with no effect other than keeping herpes at bay.
